CreativeMornings: Breakfast with David Carson May 20th

CreativeMornings Oslo chapter is about to celebrate one year in June and the festivities will start this May with an international speaker, and that is nothing more than the legendary, one of the world's most celebrated designers: David Carson.

David Carson is an American graphic design legend, art director and surfer. He is best known for his innovative magazine design, and use of experimental typography. He is also a 2014 AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Artists) Medalist, former TED talk speaker and one of the creative geniuses featured on Apple for Mac's 30th anniversary. It is safe to say that without the influence of Carson and his contributions to the "grunge" style of graphic design and “breaking of rules,” the subculture that people know today would not be the same.

To join Carson at the Freedom talk, CM Oslo invited the Uruguayan conceptual artist and graphic designer Felipe Ridao.

Felipe has developed several urban interventions, diverse self-managed cultural projects and also participated in outstanding exhibitions around the globe, as example: the Gwangju Design Biennale in South Korea, the II Ibero-American Design Biennale in Spain, The Venice Biennale of Architecture in Italy and among many other shows. He is currently exhibiting at Tenthaus Oslo, presenting an urban intervention in Torggata, art directing a project in San Sebastián, participating in the upcoming Lahti Poster Triennial and preparing the Artist Run Centre “antipodes café”. From this temporary public art project – selected by Kulturetaten / Kunst i Oslo – Felipe will team up with David Carson to develop works in Norway.
